WHAT IS UMRAH AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM HAJJ?

Umrah is a voluntary pilgrimage to Mecca and can be performed at any time of the year, whereas Hajj is an obligatory pilgrimage and has specific dates. The benefit of going for Umrah now is that you can fulfill your religious obligation and gain spiritual fulfillment sooner rather than later plus avoiding rising costs and taking benefit of the health and time made available to you now

WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL STEPS OF PERFORMING UMRAH?

The essential steps and rituals of Umrah include wearing Ihram, making your intention, performing Tawaf & Sa'ey, and lastly shaving or cutting hair. Each step is vital and important and you should understand what each step will take in order to complete it to the sunnah!

Ihram:

This is the state of ritual purity that a pilgrim must enter before starting the Umrah rituals. To enter Ihram, a male pilgrim must wear two white seamless cloths, while a female pilgrim can wear any clean and modest clothing.

Tawaf:

This is the act of circumambulating around the Kaaba in the Masjid Al-Haram seven times in a counterclockwise direction. Pilgrims start from the corner of the Kaaba where the Black Stone is located and kiss or touch it if possible. This is considered one of the most important acts of Umrah.

Sa'ey:

This is the act of walking back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times. Pilgrims start from Safa and walk towards Marwa, then back to Safa, covering a distance of approximately 3.5 km

Shaving or cutting hair:

This is the final act of Umrah, where pilgrims either shave their heads or trim their hair. This symbolizes the completion of the pilgrimage and the pilgrim's return to a normal state.

WHAT ARE THE DATES OF UMRAH SEASON?
